Plus Awards Information
Call for Nominations
In June 2010, Team NEO will once again recognize excellence in the field of economic development with its 2010 Team NEO Economic Development Plus Awards.
Submissions are now being accepted to honor organizations that have made a creative, significant contribution to the Cleveland Plus region. Economic development organizations, non-profit organizations, public and private enterprises, as well as government entities may be nominated. All projects completed in the 2009 calendar year will be considered. Nominations should include the innovative tactics utilized that contributed to greater economic development in Northeast Ohio.
Finalists will be honored at an awards dinner on June , at the John S. Knight Center in Akron, and winners will be featured in the July issue of Inside Business magazine.

AWARD CATEGORIES
Nominations are now being accepted for the following categories:
Business Attraction Award
This award honors successful approaches in attracting a new business to the region. The project noted should represent a new business entity that has no current investment in the Cleveland Plus region. Submissions should include the innovative solutions utilized and net results, including number of jobs created, amount of new payroll added, and capital investment for the region.
Business Expansion Award
This award recognizes successful efforts to add incremental and significant jobs and investment to an existing Northeast Ohio based company. Submissions should demonstrate the creative tactics used and include the number of jobs added and investment made.
Business Retention Award
This award recognizes initiatives that led to the successful retention of an existing business in the region. Submissions should include the tactics used to retain the company, as well as the number of jobs retained and any new jobs or additional investment created as a result of the innovative efforts utilized.
Public-Private Partnership Award
This award honors the successful collaboration of public and private entities to attract, retain and/or expand business in their market. Submissions should include the details of the entities engaged to create economic development prosperity and how the partnership directly benefited the economic development efforts within the region.
Foreign Investment Award
This award recognizes efforts to bring a new business, based outside the U.S., to the region. Submissions should include the actions utilized to attract the new foreign business, and the results.
Minority Business Development Award
This award honors efforts to secure or expand a minority-owned business in the Cleveland Plus region. Submissions should include the endeavors utilized to secure or expand the new minority-owned business in terms of jobs, investment, and growth.
Asset Creation Award
This award recognizes the successful development of a marketable feature or asset that makes the region more attractive for business development. Submissions should demonstrate how this new feature/capability makes Northeast Ohio more marketable for business attraction.
Workforce Development Award
This award honors unique efforts to create a larger, more highly skilled workforce for the region. Submissions should indicate the action plan implemented and the ensuing outcome resulting from the efforts.
Fostering Entrepreneurship Award
This award will honor efforts that cultivated a start-up organization(s) to be successful in the Cleveland Plus region. Submissions should include how the entity made a significant contribution in helping the organization(s) achieve success in their quest of starting a new business.
