History
Established in 2003, Team Northeast Ohio (NEO) was founded by FirstEnergy Corporation, the Greater Akron Chamber, the Stark Development Board, the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce, the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber, and the Greater Cleveland Partnership to align the region’s economic development efforts.
In 2007, Team NEO focused its mission on business attraction, realizing that with Northeast Ohio’s tremendous assets and communities, marketing the collective region would exponentially increase business opportunities. In 2011, the state of Ohio selected Team NEO as the JobsOhio network partner for Northeast Ohio.
Today, in addition to marketing the region and attracting new businesses, Team NEO focuses on facilitating the development of a regional strategy, increasing collaboration among the region's key economic development groups and assisting companies that are seeking support from JobsOhio for growth and job creation.
