          TEAM NEO ATTRACTION EFFORTS STRENGTHENED

Christine Nelson and Jacob Duritsky Promoted

CLEVELAND, December 2, 2010 — Team Northeast Ohio (Team NEO) has announced that the regional economic development organization has promoted Christine Nelson to Vice President, Business Attraction and Jacob Duritsky to Director, Business Attraction.

During Nelson’s two and a half years with the organization, she has been an active contributor to converting business attraction leads into wins, leading to new jobs and capital investment for the region. Her promotion reflects the success she has had in coordinating and leading business attraction activities. In addition, her new position will allow her to contribute more directly to the strategic direction of the organization.

Duritsky will assume the role of building strong relationships with site selection consultants for recruitment of new business investment in Northeast Ohio. In addition, he will lead the organization’s efforts for developing business attraction strategies for the advanced energy sector.

“As we focus on high-potential industries to increase jobs in the region, this realignment will better position our organization’s attraction efforts,” said Jay Foran, Team NEO’s Sr. Vice President of Business Attraction.

Nelson brings more than 15 years of economic and community development expertise to her role. She is a graduate of Hiram College, and also received a Master’s of Public Administration degree from Cleveland State University. She is a Certified Economic Developer by The National Development Council. In addition to her responsibilities with Team NEO, Christine is the President of the Board of Trustees for the Greater Cleveland Community Improvement Corporation, serves on the Steering Committee for The Community Partnership for Arts and Culture and is a National New Market Tax Credit Reader for the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Prior to joining Team NEO, Duritsky was a graduate and research assistant for The Center for Public Management/Great Lakes Environmental Finance. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs, Cleveland State University, where he also holds a Master of Science in Urban Studies. Duritsky is currently pursuing his Doctoral of Economic Development from Cleveland State. He is a member or the Urban Studies Association, American Economics Association and American Planning Association.

Team NEO advances Northeast Ohio’s economy by attracting businesses worldwide to the 16-county Cleveland Plus region. The organization is a joint venture of the region's largest metro chambers of commerce. Since 2007, the organization has attracted 36 new company expansions or relocations, 3,200 new jobs and $100M in annual payroll to Northeast Ohio, leading to a total annual regional payroll benefit of $260M.
