Team NEO Announces New Members of Business Attraction Team

Team Northeast Ohio (Team NEO) has announced that the regional economic development organization has hired Christine Nelson as Director, Business Attraction and Christopher Windham as Project Associate, Business Attraction.
Team NEO’s Business Attraction team helps to generate and execute new business investment leads in targeted industries for Northeast Ohio. Nelson will lead projects during the site selection process. She will work with partners such as regional chambers of commerce, state and local governments and other public and private entities to help attract businesses to the Cleveland Plus region. Windham will work closely with the attraction team by acting as a catalyst and making connections to help attract key industries.
Nelson joins Team NEO with more than 14 years of economic and community development experience. Most recently she was the Economic and Community Development Manager for Cuyahoga County. In her most recent role she was directly responsible for creating two national award winning economic development programs leveraging research, consensus building, funding and implementation.
Prior to joining Cuyahoga County, Nelson held various economic development roles with the City of Bedford and the City of Lakewood. She has an undergraduate degree from Hiram College and a Master’s of Public Administration degree from Cleveland State University.
Windham is a recent graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College where he participated in the Honors Program and earned a degree in Economics. His college work experience includes a seminar project for the economics division at Baldwin-Wallace College that involved research and economic development work for Lorain county. He also was active in collegiate sports where he played varsity soccer at the goalkeeper position.
Team NEO unites the region to accelerate economic growth by serving as the central point for business attraction. The organization is a non-profit joint venture of the region’s largest metro chambers, privately funded to market to the 16 county-area and assist companies in expanding to Northeast Ohio. In 2007, Team NEO attracted 95 new qualified investment leads, closed $46 million in new annual payroll and created a nearly $100 million regional economic impact.
